While working at Beauty Chat we were asked to describe our style for a site bio. Mine is best categorized as granny chic. I love pearls, oxfords, argyle and pretty much anything that your grandmother probably used to wear. Paired with modern items, I think that the aforementioned items work as staple pieces that never go out of style.
One of my favorite fashion pieces is one that isn't as popular today as it was in years past, the brooch. I think it's the easiest way to add a little class, or pizzaz, to any outfit. I have one that I adore and it was only a few bucks at Forever 21. I need to buy more!
What's cool about them is that you can buy vintage inspired brooches or more modern ones.
What's your take on brooches? All about 'em, or too old fashioned for you?

I'm a lover of the brooch! you can shove them on anything and they dress up an outfit or make it look a little more cute straight away. and can always me made into a necklace!!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a fantastic vintage one on ebay that is a coat of arms.
I LOVe em, but don't wear them so much. They're pretty to look at and buy but I'm not sure what outfits to work them into lol.
ReplyDeletePass me a knitted brooch and I'm in! I love that bumblebee!!

hows your head??
I was just talking to Micaela about this! In theory, I think they're really pretty, but I never wear them. I don't know why, I just never think to put one on. Maybe on coats!
ReplyDeleteI love the bee one! Although i'd personally forget to pin one on. I'm already bad when it comes to necklaces and bracelets.
ReplyDeleteI like brooches. I actually wore a brooch with my sweater on Monday :)
ReplyDeleteThe last one is very pretty.

I love brooches! They are a nice little extra on an outfit. I would love to wear them more often though.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You must start watching the Harry Potter movies!!
I guess my style is a bit of Granny chic too... I like all of the things you describe. Perhaps we are old souls at heart. Have a wonderful weekend... headache free. xo

ReplyDeleteI love brooches, I think they're making a comeback, especially modern ones on the corner of a nice blazer :)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to drop by and say hi and that you have such a lovely blog! Maybe we could follow each other!

I would not call it Granny but more "classic". I love your look =)
ReplyDeletei still love brooches...and pretty much anything antique-y looking. i don't wear them as much though.
ReplyDeletebtw my disney swag is not from the new f21 collection...most are directly from d-land. but thanks for telling me about it. i actually ran to the nearest f21 during lunch and picked myself up a few things.
i love all of these pretty brooches! i admit i've never bought one for myself, but i could see them looking great dressed up with a blazer or tweed jacket!
ReplyDeleteI love that terminology of "granny chic" if I had to choose, I would say I have my own style. I do though love sportswear.
ReplyDeleteThat second brooch is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! & very vintage.
ReplyDeleteSweet blog. A very fun post.
ReplyDeleteSo great to think about this kind of things for the holidays, too.
ReplyDeletePearls and argyle are two of my faves as well and they will always be a classic. I’m all about the brooches too. I add them to otherwise plain outfits to give them a little something. I wore a dress to a wedding a few weeks back, threw a brooch around the satin waistband and bam, instant glam ;) I love the 2nd brooch and 4th brooches you posted.
