This time of year I go gaga over the fall blogs you all post. Living in Los Angeles, fall doesn't really exist. There are no trees so there is no foliage. The air doesn't get too crisp, right now we're in the low 70s, coming off of a week in the high 90s. And, it's not uncommon to see people still wearing flip flops and hanging at the beach. I thought November meant cool temps...guess not!
To some, that may sound ideal but I just want to see red and orange scattered leaves as I sip a warm beverage!
In order to get into the autumn mood, I like to go to Oak Glen. It's an area about two hours east of LA. Some of you may recall that I visited a few weeks back to go on a haunted hayride. This time around I wanted to get some fresh air, see fall scenery, and pick apples.
Much to our surprise apple picking is expensive! We stopped at a few farms and couldn't find any picking for less than $12 a pound. Sorry but that's insane! Hence our appleless return. Also, I was a bit disappointed that none of the trees had changed color yet. We did make the most of our trip, though!
We started off with some fresh apple donuts. They were SO warm, soft, and good! As we snacked on these scrumptious treats we walked around the farm store checking out the produce and trying samples of the apple varieties.
As we headed down the mountain we happened across an alpaca farm! It was a bit hidden so we were the only ones there and had the animals undivided attention. Literally all of the alpacas just stood there and stared at us...all but the two gettin' it on in the corner...disturbing.
All in all it was a great few hours out of the city taking in the nature that surrounded us.

you don't need fall weather to feel fall...just look around at the fall fashion. that's what really matter, right? haha! jk.
i've never apple picked before...bummer that it costs so much.
Still looks like you had a good time. That price for apples is insane!
Looks like so much fun!! I love everything about fall too :)
Your pictures are phenomenal!
Oooh I need to look this place up. I am craving some fall weather. Maybe I should go to the East Coast!
Happy Fall in L.A. I live in Texas and we don't get the fabulous fall that all the bloggers write about either. :( It looks like you found the perfect place!
I'm sorry that you left appleless but I'm sure that those donuts more than made up for it! Fall is a spectacular season that sadly ends too shortly; I'm glad you got a taste of it :)
Eternally yours,
Stephanie
OMG, I am obsessed with llamas! Those are too, too cute, aren't you lucky! Fabulous fall trip! XX!
You have know idea how much I'm drooling right now. Apple donuts....YUM!
How cute are those alpacas??? I feel you on the lack of fall in California. But I went up to Napa this past weekend and there were bright red and yellow leaves everywhere!
Funny, I miss those non-existant fall days in L.A. ;) Can't wait. ;) And I would love to get those apple donuts or whatever they are. Yum!
Gorgeous (and yummy!) post, darling!
Love these pics!

Those donuts look awesome! Total bummer that you didn't get any apples. Feshly picked apples from the orchards are the best, but it looks like you still had a great time!
I was born in Boston and miss the fall colors and smells. I live in la too and love seeing all the fall images on blogs.
oh my word! I died over this post. Especially the food- GET IN MY BELLY!! I have never been out west past Colorado..I'm probably missing something, huh? ;)
Those donuts look so yummy! Sounds like a fun time!
Awesome, love these pictures... especially the farm and donuts. What is fall without that combo?!
I LOVE all these pics! Fall favs :-)
Hi!! I am back, hopefully for good and sorry that I am again just now catching up on all of your posts.
The warmth of California does sound inviting since it’s so cold here right now, but I do love seeing all the colors of fall. We will have to get you out here during October or something ;)
Doing fall activities is one of my favorite things about the season and I’m so glad you like to do the same. Those apple donuts look yummy and the place that you went to reminds me of Linvilla Orchards around me. That is a lot of alpacas on the farm! It looks like they were happy to see people. I love the pumpkin shot!
