Last weekend I helped with recruitment for the first time as an alum. I pledged 10 years ago - in fact, my bid day was THE September 11, 2001. I spent four years as an active Delta Zeta before I went alum. In those four years I met new friends, lived in the sorority house, kicked butt every Greek Week, wore lots of letters, and hung out with silly (but sometimes very attractive ;) fraternity boys. I really don't think my college experience would have been as enriched had I not become a Delta Z.
Needless to say, when I was asked to help with Fall 2011 Rush I was thrilled! In between parties I managed to snap a few Instagram pictures. It's obvious that we love our pink!
The tablescapes were girly and fun
A closer look - note our mascot, the turtle, on the tables!
Pink lemonade was served
Balloon mania!

Were/are you in a sorority? If so which one?
Please note: this Monday I will NOT be posting for Man Candy Monday. Sorry to skip it but I have my Hart of Dixie recap. Link ups will resume the following week (Monday, October 3).
Also, be sure to enter my latest giveaway if you haven't yet!

I was a Delta Delta Delta! It was a lot of fun! The Party looks fabulous!
So cute!
Fun, fun, fun!
I didn't go to college so no.
This is so fun! We don't have Greek life at my school but our dorms are suspiciously similar to sororities and fraternities -- single-sex with traditions and philanthropies and colors and heavy emphasis on brother/sisterhood, etc. It's fun!

Oh how the greek life was good! I was in Phi Mu! Our colors were pink and white. Those sorority days were some of the best!
This looks so nice! Did you get any of the Lilly Delta Zeta print when they came out with it?
So pretty! We didn't have the Greek system at my school. It is a VERY liberal college. Remember that show on MTV, Sorority Life? I loved it. Hahahaha.
Very cute! I'm so jealous of your sorority experience! If I could go back to college and do it again I would! ;)
Looks like fun!
Phi Mu all the way!
I was a Tri-Delt... it brings back so many memories to see those pics of sorority functions! I love my dolphins, but I wish pink was one of our colors :(
PS: I thought I had "followed" before but hadn't! EEK! So I just became your newest follower :) XOXO
never was in a sorority...but this party looks so festive and fun...

I was a an Alpha Gam but now think I should have gone DZ - all my closest friends from school are DZ's.

Totally cute! I love the turtles on the table.
LOVE these colors - too pretty! :) My school didn't have a Greek system, but I took full advantage of taking classes at Villanova and going to frat parties/mixers/formals! (Seriously, I can't tell you how many people thought I went there since I was at almost every single event).
This looks amazing - crazy that a day like September 11 could be so bittersweet for you.
Love you! xox
Great job with the decorations! You and the rest of the sorority girls have good taste! ;)
We had a huge greek system at my college. I was a Sigma Kappa.
Awww, those turtles are too adorable! :)
Fun! I'm a Phi Mu. I always had a love/hate relationship with recruitment. It was so long and exhausting (we had 1 round in Oct and 4 rounds before school was back in session in Jan). Though we had many sleepless nights because we were prepping for the rounds my sisters and I made lots of memories.
aww, how fun is that?! i especially love the pink lemonade. :D

oh boy...i'm so not a sorority girl so i cannot relate.
i'll take a pink lemonade though! ;)
Aw looks like fun! I sometimes wished I had the opportunity to do the sorority thing, I think it would have given me the social lift I needed because I was pretty shy.
I went to an all woman's college, so the whole thing was basically a sorority.
From a fellow IY member (joined in 1991, graduated in 1996), I love your blog! I wasn't able to help out with recruitment this year, but I loved seeing your pictures. Thanks for sharing them!

That's so nice of you to help out with the alum. I'm loving all of the pink, especially the balloons and punch!
I did sales calls to alumni in college - wasn't as fun as this, lol!
