Over the weekend I went to the SoCal Blogger Meetup in La Jolla hosted by several bloggers. I heard about the event via one of the hosts, Tammy of Lemons, Avocados, and the Bay, and promptly bugged a few bloggin' buds to go with me. Of course, it didn't take any persuasion at all because the whole thing was described as, and turned out to be, a blast!
The Meet-up was hosted at Roppongi's and we were all impressed with the location. Great food and space. If I'm ever in La Jolla again I will have to stop by. It was that good!
Check out the space filled with bloggers and decorations (thanks to Karina Irene Photography for the pics!!)
The turn out was super impressive. 60+ bloggers in attendance from the SoCal region! I will say that it was a bit intimidating with that many people there. It's never easy to approach a group of women you don't know. BUT I did get to meet a few new (to me) bloggers as well as some ladies who I've been following on the blogosphere for awhile.
Magan of A Touch of Class and Heather of ...this & that... posing with me
I also carpooled with the sweet Meg of Henning Love but we didn't get a pic together. Here she is winning the grand prize, an beautiful bag!
What I really like about the Meet-Up was the fact that they made sure enough items were donated so that everyone in attendance won a raffle prize, on top of our swag bags. Super cool. I won an amazing San Diego print from ORANGE & PARK. Since I'm in LA, and not SD, I may just have to buy a state print from the company and gift the one I received. I really like their work. They also have stationary. You should check them out for sure!
I couldn't have asked for a better day. Wonderful ladies, warm weather, and my new Michael Kors watch (I went with the tortoise! ;) Although...as we posed for pictures overlooking the ocean before heading to the Meet-up I did get shit on by a seagull. It was all in my hair and on my blazer. That better bring me good luck soon!
