This weekend I didn't do anything! In fact, the only thing I did all week was go to see Magic Mike with Kate of Nautical By Nature on Tuesday night.
I know there have been mixed reviews about the movie, but I wasn't really aware it was going to be as deep as it was. It wasn't a bad movie, I think I was just disappointed with the boobs. I thought we finally had one movie for us, the ladies. Nope, they had to sneak bare chests in there. C'mon, less ladies more men! Oh well.
We went to see the movie in Downtown LA which is always fun. I live in Hollywood and although it's considered part of Los Angeles, the city is so spread apart that when I go downtown (which is like 5 miles away but takes at least 30 minutes to drive to) it's like a whole new city. A big yay for Klout! I got two free movie tickets thanks to my Klout Score and the show Falling Skies that rewarded me a perk!!
On Saturday my big excitement was receiving my Derng pave cross bracelets. Um, I'm in love. Not only did they get to me in three days, they are totally beautiful. I bought myself the gold version and my mom silver. At $11 a piece, they were a great purchase. And included with the bracelets was a piece of orange string that looked great with gold so I strung it through a gold chain bracelet. East DIY!
Tonight was the most important part of my week. I went and bought some healthy food. I need to lose weight and am unhappy with my current physical state. But instead of doing anything about it I make excuses. Time to cut the crap. Here's to a week of eating right. Wish me luck!

I need to hit the grocery store too to get some yummies. Love the new bracelet!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to see what the fuss is with this movie! I've heard that it's worth it for channing and matthew. THat would be enough for me! I love that cross bracelet, that's such a great deal. I've been wanting one of those. And that fruit looks awesome. I believe in you Leann, you've got this!
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun at Magic Mike. I kinda wish we could have just tuned out during the second half/non-stripping parts though. Ah Alex Pettyfer......... (that's me drooling)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the health food! Sounds like a relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love the bracelet! Magic Mike bugged me because it tried too hard to be deep and didn't quite have the actors to pull it off. And I hated the chick. And there wasn't enough Matt Bomer. And the scene he was in was really awkward (boobs). It almost felt like a rip-off of Boogie Nights. Just let the strippers strip!!! Geez.
ReplyDeleteI totally feel you about dieting. I was doing really well until all my vacations hit and I gained it back. I've had a hard time getting back on the train. I'm starting tomorrow too!
Your weekend sounds good though...especially the free tickets and the healthy food. :D
ReplyDeletexoxo
I gotta see Magic Mike. I'm actually a Matt Bomer fan..I did hear it wasn't all that raunchy but I'll need to see for myself:) Beautiful skyline pic and love your new jewels!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on all the healthy food, I haven't had chocolate or coke in ages ;) And thank you for introducing me to those Derng pave cross bracelets, I'm off to have a look at the collection. Wishing you a great week!xoxox
ReplyDeleteLove those bracelets - so cute!

Sounds like a fun and relaxing weekend. Love your MK watch and bracelets! Still need to see Magic Mike. Yay for all the veggies & healthy eating!
ReplyDeletedoing nothing is sometimes the best thing to do!
ReplyDeletehave a great week :)
Lazy weekends are the best! Aw I totally agree about Magic Mike, that chick they got to play the sister was SO boring and I couldn't stand her face by the end of the movie :(
ReplyDeleteGood luck with eating healthy, I'm sure you can do it! I agree about Magic Mike and that boobs.. what the heck was up with that?! Definitely could have done without it. Maybe their desperate attempt to bring straight guys into the movie? haha
ReplyDeleteI just linked up as #41, but managed to mess up on my picture. So glad I found you!
ReplyDeletexo,
your new follower
I absolutely love your bracelets! They are adorable. Still haven't seen Magic Mike, I probably won't see it in theaters since the hubby wouldn't be caught dead going! haha
ReplyDeleteI did the same grocery store shop last. I ate so poorly this week! Time to get back on the wagon!
ReplyDeleteBoooooo..that's disappointing about Magic Mike! At least you got the tickets for free, though :) Kudos to you for your healthy eating attempt! It does make it a lot easier when you have healthier food in your house as opposed to junk food. Good luck, and keep us updated on your progress!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see Magic Mike yet but that is good to know :-)
ReplyDeleteVery cute blog! It's also my goal to start eating healthy this week too :) I know what I need to do, I've just been too lazy to do it!
ReplyDeleteOh, give it until 5 pm tonight - someone will ask me to Happy hour and I'll be there in a flash - Diet Ruiner, haha!
I'm now following :)

My one friend saw Magic Mike over the weekend and she said she liked it....mixed reviews as you said!
ReplyDeleteUgh the drive downtown from the valley is awful!
I need to go on a diet but we just got back from vacation and have no food in the house so its hard to be healthy. Good luck this week! And I love the new bracelet and the DIY. So fun!
ReplyDeleteI am the queen of food/exercise excuses! I figured that 6 months later the "Oh, I just had a baby!" line is kind of wearing thin. Over the weekend I was reading a book called "Slim for Life" which helps you see the benefit in raw/natural foods and how to ween yourself off of processed and refined foods. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet, that I slowly need to commit myself to. So...good luck to us!
ReplyDeleteAnd now that you've seen Magic Mike, i think I am officially the only person left on the planet (or in the blogging world) that hasn't.
Happy Monday!
You are not alone in the excuses department. I have been eating like absolute crap and haven't been to the gym in at least a year! It's so hard to change bad habits, but you can do it!! Good luck and stay strong! You have motivated me!! And I love the orange string through the bracelet! So clever! ;)

I LOVE downtown LA. When I lived in Huntington going to LA to see a band or hang out at the standard were always the best nights.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that is the exact MK watch that has been on my wishlist foreverrrrr. :) Love it.
Girl, I am right there with you. After a couple MISERABLE experiences trying on bathing suits and realizing that I'm self conscious about my belly even in front of my boyfriend, I decided it was high time to change things. I'm on day 5 of using my fitness pal (again) which really helps me SO much. I'm also trying to be more regular/committed with exercise--I'm going on a run before my writing workshop today!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and keep me posted--I could always use inspiration and health camaraderie!! :)
My only complaint with Magic Mike was not nearly enough Matt Bomer!! I love him so much and am so excited "White Collar" is back on starting tomorrow night!! ;) My favourite TV show and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty bracelet and your easy DIY one :) Looks great!
Your healthy food looks so refreshing and delicious! I have no will power when it comes to food. I love to eat and I love to eat the really bad, unhealthy stuff. I enjoy working out, if only I could eat right! Let me know what healthy dishes you enjoy!
Good luck with the healthy eating!! Once you start seeing (and honestly...feeling) the difference, you'll be hooked!! And if you're looking for a meal plan or menus, etc, check out the Fitnessista blog. She has menus and always features good recipes.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bracelets ... I am heading over there to order my own!! :o)
ReplyDeleteFree movie tickets because of your Klout perk? That's awesome. I need that perk. I also saw Magic Mike, and I totally understand your issue with the boobs. It would be nice if they didn't have to make an appearance. Will be reviewing this movie (and others) on the blog soon.
ReplyDeletelove the bracelet and you are so sweet to get one for your mom! they are a great addition to your already owned arm candy
ReplyDeleteLove the bracelets! Good for you for taking charge. I recently went through the same thing. No more excuses! I'm sending you good thoughts! :)

Oooooh noooo, I'm so sad to hear about the boobs in Magic Mike. I totally agree, this was supposed to me "our turn" - I tried to go see it the other day but it was sold out :( please tell me we atleast get to see sexy ABS in the movie...and frequently? ;) haha.
