On my cruise our first stop was Nassau, The Bahamas. To be honest, there wasn't that much to it. Don't get me wrong, it was gorgeous! But aside from the mega-resort, Atlantis, and mansions like Shakira's, there wasn't a lot to see and do. Not necessarily a bad thing if you're looking to escape, I just personally love visiting places where I can explore a lot.
We did take in all the sights we could, starting with the old town area, location to Fort Fincastle and Queen's Staircase - the 102-foot staircase was carved out of limestone. Quite an impressive feat!
After we got our history fix we headed to the world-famous Atlantis resort. It was definitely nice, but there were a ton of people. I felt like I was at a Vegas resort more than a Caribbean paradise.
To finish the day we hung out at the beach taking in the crystal teal water. Absolutely gorgeous!

Other than climbing all those stairs it looks amazing!
my sister is actually headed to Atlantis soon...not surprised it was super packed!
Stinks that it was so busy but enjoying the beach and water makes it worth it. So pretty!
I am so ready to be laying on a beach!
I'm so jealous of all the beautiful blue water!!! I'm glad you were honest about the whole "not much to see" in the Bahamas because you just saved me a whole lot of money on an expensive trip!!
It's been cold and rainy here so I just want to climb through the screen! It looks beautiful!
I totally missed those steps when I was there! Atlantis wasn't too busy when I went but it was filled with children!! I swear there were more children in Atlantis than Disney World. They stay for free and eat for free.
Great pictures.
Best, Mree
We made all the same stops in the bahamas! Awesome! So glad you had a great time! I LOVED it there. - Nicole www.craftmysoul.blogspot.com
I have never been on a beach vacation. I grew up going to Florida all the time and I've been to California and Hawaii beaches, but never to just sit and relax for days at a time. After seeing all your pictures I really want to plan one now.

Being from Florida I've been on many cruises, and yeah, there isn't much to Nassau. But it is pretty, and I'm sure the Virgin Islands were awesome.
When we went, I was in middle school so my bro and I just went up and down the slide at The Atlantis lol which at 10 is fun. But then my family did a Virgin Islands cruise a couple of years ago and each island it was the same activity so after awhile I got bored lol so I hear ya
That beach looks divine! We, here in chilly New England, are winter weary. This was the perfect post to remind me that summer will return, hopefully, one day soon. Thanks for the encouraging photos!
Stopping by via Travel Tuesday. :-) Cheers!

I've been wanting to go to that resort! Do you think it was a lot of people because of the ships being in port?
I've been to the Bahamas before but stayed at the Atlantis and never even left the resort. If I could do it all over again, I would take the time to explore the rest of the island. I couldn't even tell you what it has to offer. It was so pretty though! It looks like you had a nice trip!
One of my best friends is on her honeymoon in the Bahamas right now. I have never been to the Caribbean, but it's definitely on my list! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous photos and for linking up with Travel Tuesday. :)
