Cruising the Eastern Caribbean

I'm back from my cruise! Seven days sailing the Eastern Caribbean seas with stops in The Bahamas, USVI, Puerto Rico, and Turks and Caicos on Carnival Cruises.

While a cruise was a great way to see multiple destinations, it wasn't really my thing. Too many people - pushy rude people at that, time limits on each island, and the ship entertainment wasn't really my thing. Had I went with a group my age, instead of my parents, aunt and uncle and their friends, I may be singing a different tune. Nevertheless, it was still an experience that I am lucky to have had!

Come back next Monday for a Nassau recap!

My husband and I went on our first cruise in January and we loved it! Now, I'll agree that the entertainment wasn't really my thing, and I didn't like having a time limit at each destination, but I LOVED just relaxing and lounging and doing nothing all day! I think it also makes a difference that we went by ourselves, so we didn't have to worry about what anyone else was doing!

I am going on my first cruise in October! I am going with one of my cousins and her daughter. It will be nice just to get away for a week!

I've never been on a cruise but always wanted to go. however, what you described is exactly what I always disliked about the cruise fact...too many people, too little time in islands and just too much sea. Yet look at your photos...they are brilliant. May I have that drink, please?!??!!!! Yum.

Looks beautiful, but I have heard that about cruises! I like to take my time in places!

this looks awesome! I'm so afraid of cruises though so I don't think that I'll ever take one. Water and I don't mix.

I love love love cruises!! i don't mind the time limits because you can always go back to an island you like..the food? can you talk about the deliciousness of the food?

So pretty! I think cruises are good for certain destinations. Like, we went to Alaska. When else would I visit all those cities on their own? I totally agree with you about the short port trips and the boring days at sea though. I can't wait to cruise with my kids when they're a little older because it's such an easy way to see a lot and keep them busy in the meantime.

Woww those photos are phenomenal..I'm not sure how, but I know they were even more gorgeous in person. When I went on a cruise, I was somewhat seasick most of the time. I know some people love them, but I think I'll stick to land next time!
