Rrrrrrrrrico! Pretend like I said that with a Spanish accent. The stop on my cruise that I wish I had more time to explore was PR for sure. It's so big and there is SO much to see that you really do need several days to fully explore the country. Since we were limited, we decided to explore the rainforest then check out the fort.
We got lucky visiting the El Yunque rainforest because it had rained hard the night before, making the waterfalls really beautiful, but that day it was only sprinkling so we didn't get too wet.
After exploring the rainforest we headed back to Old San Juan for a drive around the city and a tour of the fort. I wish there'd been more time to walk around the city and eat local r but we had to skip that. Next time for sure!
Have you ever been to Puerto Rico? How long did you stay and what did you see? I'd love tips so if I ever do go back, I'll have a list of must-sees.
Be sure to check out my recaps of St. Thomas, The Bahamas, and Grand Turk!
I went to PR last Spring and it was AMAZING. We were there for a week and I still feel like there's stuff I wanted to see. We didn't get to the rainforest but we did get to explore Old San Juan during a full day, and a couple of nights. I'd highly suggest doing Old San Juan if you go back!
ReplyDeleteAnd eat at the Parrot Club!
I've been to PR several times, and each time it better than the last! So many different sights to see! El Yunque is one of my favorites :) Some of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to are on the east side of PR. So pretty!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, so pretty! I think I just need to go on the cruise you went on!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually from Puerto Rico! So exciting to hear of yet another person visiting my beautiful island. Hope you enjoyed your stay!
ReplyDeleteAll that lush greenery and the waterfall is gorgeous. Such an amazing trip.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI definitely read "Rrrrrrrrico" with a Spanish accent in my head haha. I have never been to Central/South America (except Cabo), but I definitely want to get down there some day! Although I guess PR is technically the US? lol
ReplyDeleteI don't think Puerto Rico ever crossed my mind as a place to visit, but this pictures make me want to go. What a cool place!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time in PR! The only thing we didn't get to do while we were there was go to the rainforest! I loved the forts.
ReplyDeleteNever been and always wanted to go. Maybe one day because I must see such a big leaf for myself. :)
ReplyDeleteNot having more than a couple of hours to discover a place is probably what would probably annoy me so much at a beautiful location like this! :) But the good thing is that you can always go back in the future! :)
