Get Your Sorority & Fraternity Gear at Greek U!

Greek U Sorority Shirts

My freshman year of college, my best friend made me go through sorority recruitment with her. I had no interest in joining. Not because I was anti-Greek life, but because I didn't know much about it. Then I became a Delta Zeta and found my home. I can't imagine not being a part of the sisterhood that shaped my adult life. Flash forward years later and I'm involved in a local alum group and some of my best friends are women I met in my sorority. And of course, I still love showing off my DZ pride.

If you're a member of a sorority or fraternity, Greek U is a one-stop shop for unique, stylish merchandise ranging from clothing to art and stationary. With recruitment and Bid Day coming up, this online store would be a great shop to get your shirts. Prices are reasonable and shipping is fast so if you're in the market, Greek U can help out!

I'm wearing the Monogram Slouchy V-neck Tee - great for active and alum women alike. The material is super soft and lightweight and I like the breathable feel of it. It does run small, so I recommend going one to two sizes up. And the neckline is a bit plunging so you'll also want to wear a tank under. But overall, the shirt is really stylish. I like the monogram because its a different take than stand alone Greek letters. The design let's you show your sorority pride in a simple, yet classy manner.

My shirt retails for $28.95, and pricing goes down with quantity. For example, they have the cutest sorority hats and they retail for as little as $5 a hat. When I was active I served as Greek Week chair and it was tough to find cute items that didn't cost a fortune. I would've died over the selection of items and the affordable price tags!

Head over to Greek U and check out their selection. I basically want everything and know you will, too!

Life Lately

Newport Beach, CA sunset Unicorn Milkshake from Caked LA Sombre Blonde Waves The Museum of Ice Cream LA The Cliff Restaurant

I'm now getting back into the swing of things with blogging after my unexpected hiatus. Sometimes it happens, right? This blog is a few months away from it's 10th blogiversary so breaks are bound to happen. And now that I'm back, I wanted to do a mini photo dump showing what I've been up to. In a nutshell, beach trips, indulging in treats, new hairstyles, museum visits, and friend time. Things are pretty good in these parts!

In the next few weeks I have posts lined up about travel, movies, food, makeup and more. So stay tuned!

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial

Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow in Edgitorial

I love Influenster. They give the best samples in exchange for reviews (even if you're not a blogger). If you haven't yet, sign up for Influenster stat! I recently received Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial and was immediately drawn to the beautiful colors. The shades are bold and bright, which is usually out of my comfort zone, but because the colors blend so well, I have been able to create some looks I wasn't sure I had the ability to achieve.

Pretty right? I've been drawn to the gold (Pleather Python) and dark brassy olive shade (Making a Scene) and they look great together. Below I'm wearing those colors, with the black (Everywhere) as an eyeliner.

I have to warn you, you're about to see an extreme close up, but I wanted to really display the shadow. Please excuse the bags under my eyes!

You can pick up Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Eyeshadow at Sephora for $49. Edgitorial is popular and currently sold out, but there are five other color palettes to choose from. If you try this product out out, let me know your thoughts!

The Cliff in Laguna Beach is a Must-Visit Restaurant

I'm at that age where I still want to have birthday parties, but I'm a little old to celebrate in grand fashion each year. This year I decided to arrange for my girlfriends to all meet up in Laguna Beach for dinner. All I wanted was to sit near the water and take in the view. After researching, I decided on The Cliff. The main factor was reservations. None of the seaside establishments take reservations (I'm assuming because it's so popular during the summer), but The Cliff does take call-ahead seating an hour before arrival. I actually called a bit earlier than that, and they accommodated my request.

Before dinner, my friends and I arrived early and sat in the bar area as we waited for our "reservation" time. If you visit and there is a wait, this is a great option to sit and grab a drink. There are also little shops surrounding the restaurant that serve as a good time killer. It is a strange setup, so you have to navigate to find the restaurant seating, bar, and restrooms.

I was really impressed that they were able to seat us at our desired time, with a great view, and a party of nine. Seating is very limited, but there really isn't a bad spot since all tables are outside. The Cliff truly provides sweeping views of the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Our table, though, was right above the beach so we could see the sand, waves, and beautiful sunset.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any food photos because I was so busy talking and by the time we ate it was a bit dark. My only complaint was that it was so dark I could barely see my food. I had to actually pick my bowl up and tilt it to the side to try to see as I ate. Despite the low visability, everyone raved about their food. I regret not getting the clam chowder fries because I heard they were amazing. As for the drinks, they weren't the best but they were definitely strong. So that isn't such a bad thing!

One thing to note is parking isn't great in Laguna and the valet was full by 6. It took us 20 minutes find a spot in a nearby structure (just under $12 for three hours). The walk was about five minutes though, so not too bad.

Overall, I would recommend The Cliff for a celebration or any meal. Just take advantage of the call-ahead seating and arrive a little early.
